Intro

Hi, I'm Megan — a mom, a teacher, and the founder of Brave Little Books.

This all started when my 3-year-old son needed eye surgery. As a mom, I wanted to help him feel prepared — not just physically, but emotionally. I knew how important that was because when my oldest, now 17, had tonsil surgery, we didn’t have many resources. He didn’t know what to expect, and I saw how scary that was for him.

So this time, I wrote a book just for Booker.

We read it together every day leading up to surgery — even at the hospital, right before his procedure. He was so prepared that when the doctors asked what would happen, he proudly told them the steps — just like in his book.

That’s the power of story.

How it All Started

Mission Statement

I created Brave Little Books after my cousin suggested I make books to help other families like mine — to offer comforting, honest, and personalized stories that walk children through hard or unfamiliar experiences.

As a teacher, I know how powerful storytelling is. As a mom, I know how much kids need to feel safe, seen, and supported.

Every Brave Little Book is written with heart, guided by real experiences, and made just for your child.
